Learn to Be Financially Healthy and Join Me for a FREE Chicago Small Business Event, Su Negocio, on 7/12

This post was sponsored by Massachusetts Mutual Financial Group (MassMutual). All opinions are my own.

This year has been full of so many firsts for me; first puppy on my own, first solo apartment and lots and lots of bills on my own. In my early 20s, a paycheck meant a night out in River North and an overpriced shopping spree of sale clothing off Michigan Avenue. As long as I had enough money to grab a burrito bowl from Chipotle after class, I was happy. It didn’t take long to realize I was making zero progress on my savings account and my dream of having a successful health communication tech company wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Money is something I didn’t consider a priority in life, and it’s frustrating to think about how much time I wasted spending it without having a plan. Latino-owned small businesses are the fastest growing segment of small businesses in the country, and I want to be apart of it!

After much consideration and self-reflection, I decided it’s ok to seek help and admit that I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to finances. Which is why on Tuesday, July 12, I will be attending the Su Negocio event by Mass Mutual and the Hispanic Bar Association. The mission of “Su Negocio” is to help empower Latino business owners in the community by offering resources to ensure a successful future for your business, like how to evaluate what your business is worth, and how to establish financial goals through their simple 5-10-15-20 approach.
